Solar Battery Calculator
Calculate the battery bank size needed for solar off-grid or backup systems. Based on daily usage and desired autonomy.
Enter usage and battery details.
Battery Bank Formula
Required Ah = (Daily kWh × 1000 × Days) / (Voltage × DoD)
Example: 10 kWh/day, 1 day autonomy, 48V, 80% DoD
Ah = (10,000 × 1) / (48 × 0.8) = 260 Ah
Ah = (10,000 × 1) / (48 × 0.8) = 260 Ah
FAQ
What is depth of discharge (DoD)?
DoD is the percentage of battery capacity you can use. Lithium batteries: 80–90% DoD. Lead-acid: 50% DoD. Never discharge fully for longevity.
