How to Simplify a Fraction
Simplified Fraction = Numerator ÷ GCF / Denominator ÷ GCF
Find the Greatest Common Factor (GCF) of the numerator and denominator, then divide both by that number. The result is the fraction in lowest terms.
Example: Simplify 24/36
GCF(24, 36) = 12
24 ÷ 12 = 2, 36 ÷ 12 = 3
Result: 2/3
GCF(24, 36) = 12
24 ÷ 12 = 2, 36 ÷ 12 = 3
Result: 2/3
