Thermal Expansion Calculator

Calculate the change in length due to temperature change using ΔL = αLΔT. Supports linear thermal expansion.

Steel: 12, Al: 23
Enter values to calculate expansion.

Linear Thermal Expansion Formula

ΔL = α × L × ΔT
New length = L + ΔL
Example: A 10 m steel beam (α = 12×10⁻⁶/°C) heated by 50°C.
ΔL = 12×10⁻⁶ × 10 × 50 = 0.006 m = 6 mm
